BELL CUTURAL ARTS CENTER
OLATHE, KS

September 15, 2012
Anthony Kearns was absolutely BRILLIANT: gorgeous repertoire,
magnificent voice, and perfect technique. He moved us with emotion
during every song. The Bell Cultural Arts Center was recently built,
with state-of-the-art acoustics, so his voice was rendered pure.
(Beautiful soft lighting too). Although each note seemed effortlessly
reached, his lower register seemed deeper, darker, richer, and
more robusto than ever before. The night encased a big program,
and he delivered: his artistry driving each song straight into our
hearts. Anthony proved he is an experienced entertainer, enchanting
us with his artistry and interpretation of the music which seemed
so carefully chosen for the setting. Among the songs: Red is the
Rose, Sally Gardens, The Schubert: Serenade, She Moved Through
the Fair, None but the Lonely Heart, La Donne e Mobile, Plaisir
d'Amour, Glocca Morra, a beautiful duet or two with Dale Morehouse
of the University of Missouri-Kansas City (a bass/baritone), who
accompanied Anthony on the piano; of course, the treasured
Danny Boy, and for the grand finale -- Granada -- to thunderous
applause. Anthony Kearns proved to Kansas City that he's a world
class talent, and we hope he comes back soon!
